Why Engineers day is celebrated on 15 Th September every year in India, Sri Lanka & Tanzania.

Every year on 15th September national Engineers' day is celebrated to mark the birthday of the Indian Engineer, M Visvesvaraya. This day is dedicated to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contribution of engineers to the development of nation and society. Sir M Visvesvaraya was born on 15th September in the 1861 in Karnataka. After finishing his secondary school, he was enrolled for Bachelor of arts in Madras University. He later took admission in Pune Science college to obtain a diploma in civil engineering under the Institute of Civil Engineers. Through out his life he embarked in different projects in India and abroad including Sri Lanka and Tanzania. So in these country Engineers' day is celebrated on the same day on 15Th September.

    He completed a numerous construction like Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore,  Deccan Plateau irrigation project, Flood protection system in Hyderabad. Besides all these projects he put his footsteps in the construction Mysore soap factory, Bangalore agriculture university, Bank of Mysore, Mysore iron & Steel works. 

Since in those days British India had started so many projects with the limited brilliant contributors like Visvesvaraya, the renowned Engineers. After his long contribution to nation development he died on 14th April in the year 1962 at the age of 101 years.  

Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi twitted his greetings to all engineers for their tireless efforts to nation buildings.
