The Ghost Entrap| Rajesh Singh, an Air India Pilot haunted at Patna Airport.
The Ghost Entrap |
The ghost was said to be the spirit of Captain Rajesh Singh, a former pilot of an Air India who died in a crash in 1987. He was flying from Delhi to Patna with 120 passengers and crew on board, when his plane encountered a technical failure and plunged into the ground near the airport. There was no survivors.
Ever since then, his ghost lingered in the airport, unable to accept his fate and move on. He would interfere with radio signals, cause electrical glitches, and even appear in front of the pilots and air traffic controllers, trying to warn them of impending danger or to seek their help. Some people claimed to hear his voice over the intercom, saying, "Mayday, mayday, this is Air India 113, we have a problem....".
Many pilots and staff were terrified of him and avoided working at the airport. Some even quit their jobs or transferred to other locations. The Airport authorities tried to cover up the incidents and blamed them on weather conditions or human error. But the truth was hard to hide, and soon the rumors spread among the passengers and the media.
Some people were curious about the ghost and wanted to see him for themselves. They would book flights to or from Patna, hoping to catch glimpse of him or hear his voice. Others were sympathetic and prayed for his soul to find peace. Though some science believers think it as a hoax or superstition.
But no one could deny that there was something strange and eerie about the Patna airport, and that it had a dark history that haunted its present.
