Today is the first day of new year 2024. Whole world is celebrating the new year welcome ceremony with cakes, tasty foods, drinks and beverages. The peoples of Ishikawa of central Japan are homeless because of earthquake hit and subsequent Tsunami warning. It is already discussed in the earlier article on earthquake that Japan is one of the most earthquake prone country in the world. On March 11 in the year 2011, a huge earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan. It killed nearly 20000 people and also devastated towns. It also triggered nuclear meltdown in Fukushima. Again nature surged a huge and stirring earthquake of magnitude 7.6 (Seismograph/Richter Scale) on 1st of January in the year 2024. It has hit the Ishikawa in central Japan. It triggered a tsunami. Advisory is issued to evacuate residence to be safe side and prepare for possible aftershocks.
Japan Meteorological Agency has issued tsunami warning for the coastal area of Ishikawa, Toyama and Nigita. Hazardous Tsunami waves up to 5 meter. high was forecasted at Northern coast of central Japan within 300 KM of a magnitude of 7.5.
More than 36000 households lost power in Ishikawa and Toyama though Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority confirmed there is no irregularities at nuclear power plant along the sea side of Japan. Only Hokuriku's Shika plant nearer to epicenter in Ishikawa was halted it's reactor before the quake as it was shut down for regular preventive checking and maintenance.
South Korea Meteorological agency has also estimated that the sea level in some parts of Gangwon province may rise. The whole situation is in predictive control of the respective country.
