          Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was nominated as the 11th President of India. He is still an iconic figure for the inspiration of millions of youth and students across the globe. He was born on 15th October in the year 1931 in Rameswaram in Tamilnadu. He grew up in a humble Muslim family. Kalam's early life was marked by financial struggles. But his iron determination & passion for learning made him one of the India's most renowned scientist and leader. His keen interest to sincere study drove him to excel in school passed Higher Secondary from Joseph College in Tiruchirappalli. He graduated in Physics from Madras University in 1954. St. Later he completed aerospace engineering at Madras Institute of Technology in 1957.

                Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam career was spanned over forty years from his completion of his studies. After passing from Madras University he joined Indian Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) in 1958. Most of the time of his life was spent in research and development of Indian Space & Missile program. His remarkable contribution was in development of India's first Satellite launch vehicle. (SLV-iii). He was the project director & managed to success the mission. Later it was deployed in Rohini Satellite that was placed in near earth orbit successfully in 1980. Another two successful project he handled as the apex authority. He headed the the project for Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). Through his Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) he performed the key role in development of the Missiles like Agni & Prithvi. Hence he was called as the "The Missile Man of India".

APJ Abdul Kalam as President of India.

            He was fondly known as the People's president of India. He served as the 11th presidents of India from 2002 to 2007. His presidency was remarkable by his humility, simplicity and dedication to nation. He was elected as the president of India by defeating his contestant, Lakshmi Sahgal with a massive margin. He successfully completed his five year term from 25 th July 2002 to 25th July 2007. He imposed presidency rule in Bihar. He rejected one mercy petition regarding the plea of rapist Dhananjoy Chatterjee death sentence. As president of India he emphasised on commitment to education, science & technology. He was an active advocate of India's self reliance in defense technologies. He played a crucial role in country's nuclear programme. After leaving his office, Kalam continued his passion for teaching, prophecy as visiting lecturer and motivational speaker. 

Inspiration for Youth & Students:

            He emphasised on four basic ideology for success in life. He echoed them in different lectures. First pillar of success is the setting of goal and working towards them. Kalam believed in the importance of fixing a clear aim & striving  for excellence. The second pillar of achievement is the humility and grounding. He stressed on the importance to be a man of ground. Despite his great achievement he was humble & grounded. According to his advice the third pillar is the continuation in learning. He thought & suggested to earn knowledge & education throughout the life. The last but not the lease advice is to be the perseverance & resilience. It means not to give up whatever the hardship passes through. As he confessed in his narratives. His father woke up for morning prayer in the mosque, he called him to wake up. Kalam would get up & be ready to collect the newspaper from day's first mail train. He then distributed to every customers. He returned back home & be ready for his study. After two hrs. of study he came for ferry to reach his school five kilometer away from his home.

          Kalam received the Indian highest civilian award, "Bharat Ratna". He got the Von Karman Wings Award in the year 2009. He got honorary awards from University of Edinburgh & University of Waterloo.

His Journey to Eternal World:

                 Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on 27th July, 2015 while he was delivering a speech in IIM Shillong. He always insisted on education & learning. He advised to be humility & ground minded whatever the position achieved.
